Bobby Seagull

Maths teacher and Doctorate student

Bobby was born in east London, resident of East Ham. He studied for his GCSEs at St Bonaventure’s Comprehensive School. He won an academic scholarship to study his A-Levels at Eton College. He then studied Maths at Oxford University for a year and did a Maths & Economics degree at Royal Holloway University of London. Bobby then worked as a financial markets Trader in investment banking (Lehman Brothers and Nomura) and was an accountant (PwC). Bobby is the co-founder of OxFizz, a national award-winning educational social enterprise. He is also currently a trustee of UpRising, a charity focused on youth leadership. Bobby has now moved into education. He completed his Maths teacher training at Hughes Hall, Cambridge University, and his Masters in Education. He is currently a Doctorate student in Education (specialising in Maths) at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, as well as teaching school maths. He has co-presented a BBC Radio Four documentary on Polymaths, as well as published a general knowledge quiz book.
