You've been very clever and made it so that these pieces of paper cannot be forged because the quality of the image is so remarkably high. You try selling these pieces of paper to other people in return for real money. Low and behold, people start to buy your paper off you and trade it amongst themselves. You are pretty pleased with yourself.

Bright garish websites are the rage, with buttons shouting out to be pushed and menus flashing their wares. It's an interesting reminder that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that good visual design might not be universal, but local.

The recent UK radio spectrum auctions raised less money for the Treasury than anticipated. Some commentators have put this down to the structure of the auction; bidders were able to somehow beat the system and pay less than anticipated for valuable spectrum.

It means that I feel more engaged with the piste I'm skiing. I feel more in tune with the gear that I'm wearing. I'm less likely to be damaging the environment that I'm enjoying...and I'm less likely to have my day ruined by a slab of black ice.
