What makes a leader? I sit and hypothesize, while Corbyn and Smith fight as they 'moralise'. Does leadership lie in slicked-back hair? Is it pulling a pint or "showing you care"?
Politics student and amateur political blogger
I'm a politics enthusiast, hoping to study Politics at university from September onwards. I love to write and analyse political situations from as independent a viewpoint as possible, whilst staying true to my opinions.
In the past few weeks, I have felt little pride in being a Labour member and supporter. Rather, I have felt ashamed. Anti-Semitism is not the kind of issue you would expect to have to tackle in 21st century British politics. It is so far beneath us and, indeed, so morally inexcusable that members of the Labour party expressing anti-Semitic views should never even be a possibility.... It's upsetting to me that I am even sat here writing a blog about anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. The two don't go together. Socialism is one of the key foundations on which the Labour Party was built. Labour has 99 problems, not least our current lack of credibility and leadership issues, but anti-Semitism doesn't have to be one of those problems.

It surprises me what hypocrites we in the UK can be. We happily use our elevated global status to pressurise other countries into doing our bidding. We happily sanction certain countries...but we will never criticise America. Why are we so scared to stand up against what is wrong?

On Friday 11 September, MPs will be voting on a bill. A bill which has had little media attention. A bill which has been introduced by a relatively unknown Labour MP - Rob Marris. And yet a bill which, if passed, will have profound implications for people up and down the country. It is a bill dealing with matters of life and death.
