Katie Small

Director of R K Harrison Insurance Services

Katie began her career as a junior equity sales trader for Nordic investment bank, Alfred Berg. In 1998 she joined holding company ABN Amro to trade European equities, dealing with UK and US-based institutions including pension funds, mutual funds and hedge funds. Katie left the City in 2003 to start a family and it was during this period that she was approached to finance Mercury West Associates (MWA), which offered an "insurance concierge service" for high net-worth individuals. She eventually took 100% control of the company in 2010. Katie sold the company to R K Harrison in December 2011 to bring MWA's high performance motor expertise to R K Harrison's clients. The combined group has the capability to deliver a complete range of class-leading products and services to its expanding high net worth clientele. Katie is head of the Private Wealth division, which was established in July 2012 and comprises of the Private Client, Fine Art and Rural trading divisions within R K Harrison Insurance Services. In August 2012 she became the first woman to sit on the RKHIS board.
