Linda Goodman

Writer, journalist, painter, animal welfare campaigner and founder of C.A.R.I.A.D.

Linda Goodman was born in Sydney, Australia, the only child of a concert pianist father and writer mother. She studied acting and film-making before an initial stint working in the music industry. Her capacity for creativity and innovative ideas led her into the advertising industry and a successful career as an award-winning copywriter and creative director. Linda's career has taken her from Sydney to London, Paris to New York, Germany to The Netherlands and Dubai to Oman. Animal welfare has played an important role in her life from a very early age having grown up in a family that always respected and cherished animal life. Linda has worked in a hands on capacity rehabilitating horses and dogs for many years and in 2010 founded a campaign called C.A.R.I.A.D. in Wales, where she lives with her rescue dogs. C.A.R.I.A.D. stands for Care And Respect Includes All Dogs and means 'beloved' in Welsh. She was driven to form the campaign after adopting a 7 year old Golden Retriever that had spent half her life as a breeding machine in a Welsh puppy farm. The physical and emotional condition of her new canine companion was heartbreaking and from the moment she welcomed her into her home, Linda vowed that she would dedicate the rest of her life to ending this barbaric exploitation of man's best friend.
