I'm also mum to Toddler Ben, and I juggle my family life around my work. I was an international TV reporter, until I had a traumatic birth that left me incontinent, and unable to jump on a plane and able to report from the latest conflict zone. Now my conflict zone is usually centred around hair washes for my toddler tornado.
We married when munchkin was about five months old, and I think I walked down the aisle surviving on about three hours sleep. I felt exhausted and looked rubbish, but felt compelled to glide through the day smiling. I wouldn't recommend it.

When munchkin was about 14 months old, I began going to yoga classes while my husband watched the baby, and it was such a relief to do something just for me. And yes, I could almost hear the strains of Adele singing.... "HELLOOOO" in my mind as I did my downward dog. Yes, Hello, I was back.

When I was growing up, we had a timetable of classes that we had to stick to, now we have a schedule that we supposedly create, but really are often at the mercy of our children and partner's plans. How can we put the things that we really want to do in the schedule and make sure that we have time for us?

The morning after I gave birth, I got out of bed, and a cascade of wee followed. I had lost all my bladder control. It was so humiliating, and really embarrassing to try and get the nursing staff to come and clean up.
