Penny Young

Chief Executive of NatCen Social Research

Penny Young has been the Chief Executive of NatCen Social Research since 2009.

Her career has been spent understanding consumers and citizens in a variety of settings: as Director of Research at the campaigner and publisher Which?, as head of audiences at the BBC Trust, and in her early career she trained at the Office for National Statistics.

The thread that links her work is ensuring that decision makers, policy makers and practitioners take better decisions based on a good understanding of people's lives.

As Chief Executive of NatCen Social Research, Penny is proud to lead an organisation where our interviewers and nurses carry out research in the field with dedication and skill, and where everyone wants research to be of the highest quality and to make a difference.
