Founder of SLiNK magazine - The UK's only print plus size aspirational publication
Rivkie Baum studied Design and Pattern Cutting at the London College of Fashion. She has worked as a freelance stylist for both commercial and editorial clients, as well as experience within personal shopping. After working with a number of independent magazines, Rivkie got the buzz for working on magazine projects that were driven by innovation not simply boardroom demands and in 2010 after a stint of working in plus size retail, Rivkie recognised a gap in the market for a plus size magazine that was run as a 'fashion' magazine, putting style before just an obsession with size.
In April 2011 the first edition of SLiNK magazine (www.slinkmagazine.com) was launched online before moving to a print version a year later. SLiNK magazine sees itself as an aspirational, fashion and lifestyle glossy that just happens to be plus size - 'Styling Your Curves, Fashioning Your Life'.
SLiNK has amassed a team of incredible freelancers that utilise their knowledge of straight size fashion to create exciting editorials with plus size models that are featured and quoted all over the world.
In September 2013, Rivkie Baum and Debra Jones launched SLiNK boutique (www.slinkboutique.com). An online, fashion shopping hub for plus size women, retailing some of the most exciting and high quality, plus size fashion from Europe and the USA. Passionate about giving plus size women the same shopping experience and choices as straight sized counterparts they are growing the brand offering and magazine element of the site for 2014.
Rivkie continues to work as a freelance stylist with plus, straight size and celebrity clients and will be relaunching the SLiNK TV (www.youtube.com/slinkmag), youtube channel in January 2014 with a series of plus size panel discussions.
