Sofia Ahmed

A free thinking muslim woman

Sofia is currently an undergraduate student of International Relations at the University of Birmingham. She follows current affairs and has a special interest in British and US foreign policy.

Sofia’s political activism began in the early 90’s, when she took part in marches and rallies in response to the Indian military’s human rights abuses in the Kashmir Valley.

She spent three months living in the Palestinian village of Deir Istiya in 2011, working alongside international activists to provide accompaniment to Palestinian farmers, documenting and intervening in human rights abuses and supporting Palestinians in their resistance against Israel’s military occupation.

She continues to champion the human rights of oppressed people across the world and is an outspoken critic of The War on Terror.
