Manager of Legal Intelligence at the Agricultural Business Chamber

Theo Boshoff is the Manager of Legal Intelligence at the Agricultural Business Chamber, the organisation that represents the upstream and downstream value chain in the agricultural sector. Theo conducts policy advocacy for the agricultural business sector and specialises in land reform policy and legislation. Through representation at the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac), Theo has represented Organised Business in deliberations on prominent Bills such as the Expropriation Bill, Amendments to the Extension of Security of Tenure and Restitution of Land Rights Act, the Communal Property Association Amendment Bill and the Preservation and Development of Agricultural Land Bill amongst others. He has also played a leading role in formulating the position of industry on key recent enactments including the Regulation of Agricultural Landholdings Bill, Restitution Amendment Bill and draft regulations to the Property Valuation Act. He has participated in countless workstreams with the Department and other stakeholder ranging from the Green Paper to the Interdepartmental Task Team on outcome 7, covering topics such as tenure security, Valuations,  Agri-Parks and District Land Reform Committees to name a few. He was also elected by a multi-stakeholder grouping as the workstream representative for land reform in last year’s Operation Phakisa on Agriculture, Rural Development and Land Reform.
