UK R&B artist D. Walker, fresh off the back of being crowned 'Best Artist' at The International Music Conference 2012 in London, releases his controversial new track Beyonce Songs.
North London singer D. Walker, along with SplurgeBoys, the writers and producers of the track, decided, for his latest offering, to take the unconventional route in R&B music by ditching the love making lullabies and heart break ballads by singing, and very well by the way, about issues that many men can relate to.
"'Fuck the Beyonce song' may be a crude chorus but If you listen to the lyrics its actually not a diss track to Beyonce", claims D. Walker, but in fact a disagreement to some of her supposedly male-bashing anthems and the message it sends out to women who are interpreting them a bit too literally.
(D. Walker himself is a big fan of the multi-platinum singer and even has a card board cut-out of her!)
Rappers and MC's are usually the artists we music lovers allow to spread social commentary, while the 'sweet boy' singers are who we go to when we require background music for those romantic meals for 2 and later for the bedroom, but with the recent rise of 'something-to-say-singers' such as U.S acts Frank Ocean and Miguel, R&B might just be making a big come back into the mainstream and this time round, with a message. D. Walker's 'Beyonce songs' hopes to be one of the front runners.
Watch and let him know what your thoughts are.
