Five Reasons You Should Start a Blog

I love blogging. In fact, blogging is one of the best things that I ever started doing. I write on this awesome blog you are reading now and I also have my own online magazine, Frost. I highly recommend starting a blog to anyone. Below is my top five reasons why you should start a blog.

It is fulfilling.

Blogging is one of the most satisfying things that you can do. Get an idea, write it and then hit publish. Your thoughts are then out there for other people to read. When people read your blog and give positive feedback it feels amazing. When a post goes viral there is no other feeling like it. When you have your own blog you have complete freedom to write about whatever you want. (As long as you don't libel anyone!)

You can promote yourself.

Whatever your day job, blogging allows you to promote yourself. PR is expensive and blogging allows you to promote yourself or your services for free. If you have your own business having a blog will not only allow you to promote yourself, but also lets you get your business website to the top of Google with SEO. I will show you how to do this in a later post. Make no mistake, your business cannot afford to not have a blog.

You can make money.

You can make hundreds, or even thousands of pounds blogging. There are many ways to make money blogging: affiliate links, banner advertising, sponsored posts, advertorials, sponsorship, working with brands...the list is endless. There are also new ways to earn money blogging all the time. You just have to be creative. Vlogging is huge at the moment but who know what will become popular next?

You can become an expert in your field.

Blogging about a certain subject means you can become known as an expert in your field. The more you write, the wider your audience. Becoming an expert in your field will take your career to the next level and create even more opportunity. You could get a better job, more contacts for your business, speaking engagements, the chance to write for other publications. Anyone who is serious about their career needs a blog.

It could replace your day job.

The best case scenario is that your blog becomes the next Huffington Post or Mashable. Many people have started a blog and become rich and successful. It takes dedication and hard work but with a blog your options are limitless. You will never know how successful you will be until you start your blog. What are you waiting for? Blogging is the best thing I ever started, join the club now and let it change your life too.
