Bear Grylls's gruelling reality TV show Mission Survive has been axed.
The show, which saw celebrities battle through the wilds on a survival expedition, will not be commissioned for another series.
The most recent series of Bear Grylls: Mission Survive saw stars including Coronation Street actress Michelle Collins and former England footballer and coach Stuart Pearce struggle through challenges set by Grylls in the wilds of southern Africa, before Arsenal and England footballer Alex Scott won the 12-day mission.
The first series featured actress Emilia Fox and her brother Laurence, as well as retired rugby player Mike Tindall. It was filmed in Costa Rica and was won by DJ and model Vogue Williams.
A spokeswoman for ITV said: "We had two exciting series of Mission Survive but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channel's entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.
"We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series. We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course."
Bear Grylls Survival School will be returning to CITV for a second series soon.
