Court Hears Details Of £200,000 Raid On Home Of Pop Star Rita Ora

Expensive shoes, phones, computers and a designer doggy bag were among the items stolen from pop star Rita Ora's house in a £200,000 raid.

Chanel perfume, Tiffany earrings and eight pairs of Louis Vuitton shoes were taken from the singer's four-bedroom property in north-west London, a court heard.

The former X Factor judge, 25, and her sister, Elena, were asleep upstairs when two men broke in to the three-storey house in a targeted attack on November 28 last year.

Charaf Elmoudden and an accomplice allegedly made off with the stash which included iPhones, Apple Mac computers, a Fifty Shades of Grey handbag worth $4,000 (£2,682) and a Louis Vuitton doggy bag.

The 26-year-old was picked out in a line-up by Elena, three months after the burglary. Elena has already told the jury she confronted an intruder and he "looked dead in my eyes".

But in transcripts of police interviews read to Harrow Crown Court, during which details of the items stolen were given, Elmoudden denied being involved.

He repeatedly stated he was not the figure in CCTV footage of the raid. Asked by the interviewing officer: "And that's definitely not you?" he replied: "100%".

Speaking in a second interview after the identification parade he told police: "All I have to say is I was nowhere near the property on that date. Never have I been anywhere near that property."

He added: "I don't understand how this person has identified me because it's simply impossible."

Police discovered £3,500 in cash "hidden" in an envelope in a sofa bed at his home at the time of his arrest in January, prosecutor Mark Kinsey said.

Unemployed Elmoudden, of Sydney Road, Muswell Hill, north London, said the money was made up of compensation from a claim he received in September and savings he has accrued while working at a call centre and as a pizza delivery man.

He claims he had returned from a trip to Morocco on November 27, then went to the pub before returning home and watching films with his partner before falling asleep.
