Man Shares Poignant Lesson About Marrying 'The One'

Committing to love one person for the rest of your life can make marriage a huge and terrifying commitment. But for husband Dale Patridge that couldnโ€™t be further from the truth.

The author and business coach recently shared a touching Facebook post about why men who worry about being stuck with โ€˜just one womanโ€™ for the rest of their lives need to approach marriage in a different way.

In the post, shared on 4 November, Partridge wrote: โ€œMen are so worried that marriage will leave them with โ€˜only one womanโ€™ for the rest of their lives. Thatโ€™s simply not true.

โ€œI fell in love with a 19 year-old rock climber, married a 20 year-old animal lover, started a family with a 24 year-old mother, then built a farm with a 25 year-old homemaker, and today Iโ€™m married to a 27 year-old woman of wisdom.โ€

He continued: โ€œIf your mind is healthy, youโ€™ll never get tired of โ€˜one womanโ€™. Youโ€™ll actually become overwhelmed with how many beautiful versions of her you get to marry over the years.

โ€œDonโ€™t say no to marriage, say yes and keep saying yes until the day you die.โ€

Partridgeโ€™s heartwarming message has been well received online, with more than 500,000 reactions and 275,000 shares. It also inspired others to share their stories of love.

Kelly Martin wrote: โ€œBeen married to the same old gal for nearly 40 years, why in the hell would anyone want more than one woman?

โ€œShe has been all I want or need [for] as long as I can remember.โ€

Barry Sadler added: โ€œI donโ€™t believe any man would be worried about only having one woman. Only a boy would. No greater gift from God is a woman to cherish and honour. Talk about feeling power. To make someone happy just by your presence has the greatest value of all.โ€
