Pedestrian Killed By Purple Rolls Royce At Hyde Park Is Named

The victim of a fatal road traffic accident at Hyde Park Corner has been named as police continue to appeal for witnesses.

Charles Roberts, 66, from Hertfordshire was found seriously injured after the collision on Thursday at around 3.14am.

Officers and emergency services attended the scene where the man was pronounced dead. The driver of the car, a purple Rolls Royce, stopped after the incident had taken place.

Detective Constable Chris May of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “This is very busy section of road and I am sure there would be a number of people who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it. I would ask those people to contact police and in particular anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage.

“Your information could be vital in helping us understand the cause of this tragic incident.”

There have been no arrests as enquiries continue.
