Police have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Keith Flint.
The Prodigy’s frontman was found dead at his Essex home last weekend, and an inquest into his death was opened on Monday morning.
The Chelmsford hearing took two minutes, as Senior coroner for Essex Caroline Beasley-Murray adjourned the inquest until 23 July as toxicology reports are still awaited.
Coroner’s officer Lynsey Chaffe told the hearing: “Police attended, all protocols were followed and his death was confirmed as not suspicious.”
Fans and famous faces from the music world rushed to pay tribute when news of Keith’s death broke last week, with many sharing their memories of meeting him and seeing The Prodigy live.
Professor Green wrote: “In 2009 I saw you at Brixton Academy which for me, was the best gig I’d ever seen, and still is till this day.
“I said to myself that day I wanted to sell it out, and as you did, have the crowd up in arms from the front row all the way to the back of the upper circle.
“Later that year I signed to Virgin and began my journey towards doing so.”
In her tribute, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis revealed that The Prodigy were booked to play at this year’s festival.
“What an incredible frontman, he gave us all so much life and energy,” she wrote.
The Prodigy had been booked to play at a number of festivals this summer but in light of Keith’s death, the band’s remaining members have cancelled the gigs.
