Former Game Of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju has assured fans he’s in “good health”, after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

The Norwegian actor – best known for playing Tormund Giantsbane in six seasons of the hit fantasy show – revealed in an Instagram post on 16 Match that he was self-isolating at home with his family, after testing positive for Covid-19.

Just under a month later, Kristofer has shared a health update with his followers, revealing he and his wife have “fully recovered”.

We are fully recovered and in good health after I was infected by the Cororonavirus, and most likely my wife [filmmaker Gry Molvær Hivju] was too,” he wrote.

After several weeks in quarantine, and also a couple more indoors after being free of all symptoms, we are finally safe and sound. We were lucky to only have mild symptoms of the Covid-19.”

Kristofer continued: “We send our love and thoughts to all of the people where the virus has hit much harder, and to everyone who has lost their loved ones due to the Coronavirus.

“Thank you for all of your support, and please remember to stay vigilant and keep your distance, wash your hands, and most of all; take care of each other in this strange time.”

In the post announcing his diagnosis last month, Kristofer urged his fans to take precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful,” he said.

“Wash your hands, keep distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading.”
