Luke Perry’s Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty has led tributes to the actor following his death on Monday at the age of 52.

Last week, the star was taken to hospital after paramedics were called to his home in Los Angeles, after suffering a stroke. Yesterday, his spokesperson confirmed the actor had died.

Shannen, who starred with Luke on the US teen drama 90210 for four years in the early 90s, said she would “miss him every day”.

Speaking to People magazine, she said: “There is a special kind of love one has for each other when you are experiencing the journey we did on 90210 and of course life in general.

“Luke and I were working on show ideas for us. We wanted to work with each other again and create something special and meaningful for our fans at this stage in our lives.

“I will miss him everyday. Every minute. Every second.”

Shannen starred in 90210 as Brenda Walsh from 1990 to 1994, while Luke appeared as Dylan McKay for seven years.

As well as Beverly Hills 90210, Luke was also known for starring in the Netflix drama Riverdale, whose stars also paid tribute.

Lili Reinhart, who plays the character of Betty Cooper, said: “I’m finding it hard to grasp that he will no longer be around to give long hugs and share his wisdom and kindness with all of us. I’m thinking of his family. His children. I pray for them to heal and find peace in this devastating loss.”

Other stars of stage and screen also took to social media to remember the actor...

On the same day that Luke was first hospitalised, it had been announced that a rebooted version of Beverly Hills, 90210 was in the works, almost 20 years after it was last on the air.

However, while a number of Luke’s former co-stars have signed onto the project, including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, it was reported that Luke had declined to take part.

In addition to his work in television, Luke also filmed a role in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which is set in Los Angeles around the time of the Manson Family murders.

Luke is expected to appear posthumously as the real-life actor Wayne Maunder in the film, which also stars Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie.
