M66 Closure After Car 'Collides With Woman's Body'

UPDATE: The M66 reopened at 12.30pm, Greater Manchester Police announced.

Part of the M66 has been closed after a car collided with the body of a woman shortly after 2am this morning.

The incident occurred on the M66 Northbound in Bury and the motorway is currently closed from junction 1 to 3.

Police are investigating how the woman came to be on the carriageway and are asking motorists to avoid the area.
