Magician Richard Jones Is Bookmakers' Favourite To Win Britain's Got Talent

Magician Richard Jones is the current favourite to win Saturday's grand final of Britain's Got Talent.

The army bandsman of The Household Cavalry has wowed with his mind-reading and illusions, and is at 11-10 with bookmaker Coral.

However, schoolgirl singer Beau Dermott is not too far behind with odds of 9-4.

Widnes' Beau, 12, impressed with her memorable rendition of Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked during the auditions.

She became judge Amanda Holden's golden buzzer act, which gave her an automatic place in the semi-finals.

Her performance of Someone Like You from Jekyll And Hyde was greeted with a standing ovation from the judges.

"Usually there is a clear favourite each year on Britain's Got Talent, but this year it is so close," said Coral's Nicola McGeady.

The grand final of the hit ITV show will boast an impressionist, a dog and a swordsman among the 12 acts battling for victory.

The stakes are high as the contestants are competing for a spot on the stage at the Royal Variety Performance and a £250,000 prize.

They will aim to win over the public - who will vote for the winner - and panellists Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Holden.

Married couple Shannon and Peter Parker were the judges' pick for one of the wild card places, with canine act Lucy and Trip Hazard the public's choice for the other spot.

They will vie for the grand prize alongside 100 Voices of Gospel, who won the first semi-final, and mother and son singing duo Mel and Jamie.

Wayne Woodward, the Danny Dyer sound-alike, was the public's choice in the second semi-final.

He will aim to out-draw the competition, which includes swordsman Alex Magala from Moldova.

Dubbed "the most dangerous act in the show's history", Magala has sparked shrieks from the audience due to his death-defying sword routines.

Dancing Stormtroopers Boogie Storm will hope The Force is firmly with them for the final.

Meanwhile fellow dancer Balance Unity (real name Taylor Goodridge) will aim to please with another energetic routine.

Rounding out the contestants are impressionist Craig Ball, who won the last semi-final, and schoolgirl singer Jasmine Elcock, the golden buzzer choice of hosts Ant and Dec.

Viewers tuning in will also see a special performance by Diversity's Ashley Banjo to mark the 10th anniversary of the series.

:: Britain's Got Talent is broadcast on Saturday at 7.30pm.
