A man has been left fighting for his life after a dog attack.
The 33-year-old is in a critical condition following the incident in the Gleadless area of Sheffield on Monday afternoon, South Yorkshire Police said.
A spokeswoman said officers were called to Spring Close View at about 4.20pm and seized a Staffordshire bull terrier-crossbreed dog.
She added that a 36-year-old man was arrested under the Dangerous Dogs Act and later bailed.
The attack is believed to have happened inside a maisonette in the street.
One neighbour told BBC Radio Sheffield the man who was attacked had terrible injuries.
He said: "I've never seen anything like it in my life."
