Mike Thalassitis Dead: Love Island Stars Pay Tribute To Mike After His Death, Aged 26

Love Island stars have paid tribute to Mike Thalassitis, following the shock news of his death at the age of 26.

The sad news was confirmed by his management on Saturday evening and his friends, former co-stars and fans soon began sharing their condolences online.

Tyla Carr, who was briefly coupled up with Mike on Love Island, was among the first to post a message.

“I can’t believe the call I’ve just had,” she wrote. “Mike, you were loved by all of the Love island family. You’ll be missed so much.

“All my love goes out to your friends and family. Shocked.”

The show’s host, Caroline Flack, also posted on Instagram and other former Islanders to pay tribute included Alex Bowen, Kem Cetinay and Jack Fincham:

Many of those paying tribute on also criticised the initial report on Mike’s death for referring to him by the nickname he earned on the show:

After his stint on Love Island, Mike joined the cast of Celebs Go Dating 2018, and the show’s receptionist Tom Read Wilson tweeted a message.

“He was kind and dear and I shall never forget his warm cuddles and wicked twinkle,” he wrote. “What a premature and heartbreaking loss.”

The cause of Mike’s death has not been confirmed.
