A nurse who was body-shamed by trolls after posting her engagement photos on Instagram has responded to haters in the best possible way.

Mzznaki Tetteh, from Ghana, recently got engaged to her boyfriend, Kojo Amoah.

The pair celebrated by posting a series of images from a romantic photoshoot online, including on shot of Amoah lifting Tetteh into the air.

But instead of receiving messages of congratulations, the pair were targeted by online trolls who body-shamed Tetteh.

According to Buzzfeed, hurtful comments on the image included "you can see the struggle in his face," and a "RIP that mans spine [sic]."

Thankfully, body-confident Tetteh didn't let the negativity get her down for long.

She responded to the comments by posting another photo of herself online, along with the caption: "Still confident...your rubbish comments ain't ruining my happiness.

"Thanks to all for the compliments and best wishes...am honoured."

Amoah, who also posted the images to Facebook, has also shown his support for his wife-to-be.

In an interview with GhanaWed he said: "To me, I have always been a fan of plus size women and I am so proud of my woman and I don’t care about what anybody says out there.

"In every society there are people who will try to discourage you from things that you seek to do but I am not bothered at all. And I don’t regret posting those pictures on Facebook."

The couple are set to get married later this month. We wish them all the happiness they deserve.
