Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones could not keep it together in this outtake from the BBC Three series.

As much as we loved Normal People (and we really did), you have to admit that laughs in the show were a bit thin on the ground.

However, it seems that couldn’t be more in contrast to what was going on behind the scenes.

Daisy Edgar-Jones has shared a hilarious blooper reel from filming, and it’s just the tonic you need today.

The clip sees Daisy and co-star Paul Mescal in hysterics after fluffing their lines as they tried to shoot a scene in Connell’s car.

Daisy, who played Marianne, posted it on her Instagram account as she marked a year since they finished filming the hit BBC Three drama.

She wrote: “I can’t actually believe it is around a year ago today that we wrapped on NP, and what a year it has been.

“Thank you to all the lovely fans of our show, your support means so much to us. Thank you to everyone who made this series what it was and for giving me the most wonderful memories and my best friends.”

Turning her attention to her co-star, she added: “Thank you to @paul.mescal for amusing me so much with your Christmas jumper and for being such a brilliant acting partner and best pal.”

N’aww.

Normal People debuted on BBC Three to much critical acclaim back in March, going on to break records for the iPlayer.

And while fans are gagging for a second series following the successful adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel, Paul recently said it is “not on the cards”.

He told Wonderland magazine: “I do feel like the series that has finished is its own thing, and I’m totally comfortable with that. It’s not on the cards at the moment, but if I got the opportunity to play him again, amazing.”
