The band’s manager Simon Porter reported their Facebook page: "I'm happy for you to report on my behalf that Rick was flown to London by air ambulance on June 19th.”

"There is nothing else to add at this stage and wild speculation is both unhelpful and upsetting to all concerned. We will give a further update as soon as there is something factual to report."

Rick suffered a suspected heart attack late on Tuesday evening, following a gig at Turkey’s Expo 2016 in Antalya. He has been rocking with his Status Quo bandmate Francis Rossi since the mid-1960s.

The son of the band’s bassist John Edwards is currently standing in for Rick as the band continue their summer tour.
