Sia found herself fending off Taylor Swift fans after sticking up for Scooter Braun, amid his current row with the chart-topping singer.

Taylor publicly called out Scooter Braun over the weekend, after it was announced that he had bought her old record label, and therefore owned the masters to her first six studio albums, up to and including 2017’s Reputation.

In a Tumblr post, she wrote the situation was her “worst case scenario”, claiming she’d been “bullied… at [Scooter’s] hands for years”, and specifically referencing Kim Kardashian’s infamous phone call leak (more on that here), and Kanye West’s Famous music video, which she branded “revenge porn”.

While a number of Scooter’s famous clients have spoken out in defence of their manager, he’s also received a message of support from Sia.

On Tuesday morning, Sia tweeted: “You’re a good kind man @scooterbraun I hope this passes quickly. I love you keep going.”

Following this, Taylor’s diehard fans were clearly displeased with Sia, with many of them filling up her mentions with accusations of blackface, referring to when she used to paint her entire body and hair black to blend into the background of her live shows.

Sia – who began wearing oversized wigs to cover her face when her music became more mainstream – tweeted three hours after her initial post: “For the swift fans trying to make out that I would ever do blackface please see this video.

“I was painting myself into the backdrop, it was a pre cursor to the wig…”

Sia previously denied that she had taken part in blackface back in 2011, in a tweet which linked to the same video.

Since Taylor’s Tumblr post calling out Scooter Braun, he’s received messages of support from the likes of Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, both of whom he manages.

The members of Taylor’s infamous “squad” have been fairly tight-lipped about the debacle – with the exception of Martha Hunt and Cara Delevingne – but she did receive an encouraging tweet from none other than Cher.
