Spice Girls 'Confirm Reunion Gig In London's Hyde Park For July 2017'

Is it: 5 Become 3?

The Spice Girls have celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut hit ‘Wannabe’ with some exciting news - they will be reuniting for a crowd-pleasing gig next year.

The Sun reports that three of the five former bandmates Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton have booked a date at London’s Hyde Park for July 2017, when ‘Wannabe’ will turn 21.

However, it looks like a case of five becoming three, as both Victoria Beckham and Mel C have previously indicated they won’t be joining in any reunion concerts, but the reunited trio will no doubt be hoping they can persuade them in the intervening twelve months.

It is 20 years on Friday since the Spice Girls released ‘Wannabe’, their pop anthem that heralded the arrival of girl power, and five bandmates who would go on to conquer the music industry on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as charm high-ranking dignitaries like Prince Charles and Nelson Mandela along the way.
