The Impact Of The Royal Wedding!

With all the wars going on in the world, all the negativity, hatred, senseless terrorism, and Mother Nature herself being in a horrible mood causing disasters on every continent on the planet, I just wanted to scream, "For the love of God, where is the love and beauty in this world?" I have firmly believed in the power of positive thinking, and luckily it has paid off for I have observed the beauty and splendor of the courtship of Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton.

With all the wars going on in the world, all the negativity, hatred, senseless terrorism, and Mother Nature herself being in a horrible mood causing disasters on every continent on the planet, I just wanted to scream, "For the love of God, where is the love and beauty in this world?" To top it all off is the economy which has affected everyone - whether they admit it or not.

I have firmly believed in the power of positive thinking, and luckily it has paid off for I have observed the beauty and splendor of the courtship of Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton. When they became "officially engaged", that's when I really paid full attention to this love story.

Believe me, I asked some sources I trust if this was the "real deal", and it was "all a yes"! This was not media hype or manipulation. Plus the fact I knew they had been dating for eight years.

Prince William has always impressed me as a man, not just as a prince, but because of the man he has become. His service in the military is outstanding, but the humanitarian connections he has done in many countries, including third world cultures, is truly the act of a man of compassion and true concern for mankind. I know he got this passion from his mother, and he has pursued it with his own fortitude. I have a framed picture of him that has a quote "My guiding principles in life are to be honest, genuine, thoughtful and caring." Well, let me tell you something, people - this Prince "talks the talk and walks the walk". What really blows me away is that he is a pilot for the rescue team in the RAF (Royal Air Force). In my book, that KICKS ASS!

So with that being my personal opinion on Prince William, you can understand why I would trust his choice for a bride. I sincerely think that Princess Catherine is beautiful, classy, charming, intelligent (and sexy!).

So now we come to April 29, 2011, the day of the Royal Wedding. I'm in Virginia, USA, and I got up at 3:15 AM (beyond excited) and my mom joins me at 4:45 a.m. I already had the television set to record the BBC America station coverage of the Royal Wedding, THANK GOD! I had no idea what an IMPACT this would have on my life. Most people were curious about Kate's gown. The three things I was most curious about was what was Prince William going to wear, what was Kate's gown going to look like, and when was that magical moment of the kiss going to happen on the balcony? I loved the way the commentators of the BBC talked about the pageantry of the wedding and how everything was going to happen like clockwork, and most of the time you never see the face of the person speaking. We always felt like we had a front row view of everything that was happening. They were brilliant!

Not like the American networks coverage! ABC, NBC and CBS should be embarrassed for the way they covered this event. I would change channels briefly to see how America was covering this historical event, and I was horrified. First of all, the journalists were trying to make it all about them as well, and would not shut the hell up. I was mortified. Then the final time I tried switching back, they actually were running commercials. That did it; I stayed with BBC the rest of the time!

So the IMPACT that the Royal Wedding had on me was that I realized I was watching something that had integrity, dignity, tradition, respect, and above all else, LOVE! When Prince William and Prince Harry came out to get into the car, I was spellbound! They both looked magnificent, and Prince William was without doubt "The Prince among men". To see them in the car going towards the chapel was unforgettable. It was also noticeable that upon arrival at the church, Prince William made a point to greet certain guests and make that personal connection and welcome them.

Then there is the moment that Kate comes out of her hotel with her father, and they whisked her into the car with the veil over her face. She was stunning!

It was magical. The crowds went crazy, and I was speechless. When she got out of the car and you finally saw her in the dress, a princess was born. She was the most beautiful bride in the world!

The ceremony went like clockwork, but what I loved the most was the way they would look at each other. Then walking out of the church, they were officially Prince William and Princess Catherine.

Now was the anticipation of the kiss on the balcony. The crowd was packed towards the fence, and they were chanting "Kiss - Kiss - Kiss". So Prince William leans over and kisses her. But ladies and gentlemen, that was not the true kiss. It was a few minutes later after the RAF flew over the Palace - there was that magical moment when Princess Catherine was looking at Prince William and you felt the electricity between them. He leaned over and kissed her the second time. IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE SECOND KISS! The IMPACT for me was like a ray of lightning. That was the moment that made it all real and powerful. There IS beauty and love in this world, and I just witnessed it, along with the rest of the world! May God bless them and protect them always.

I feel the future monarchy is in good hands.
