JCVD - The New Face of 'Quirky' Virals

Ever since Old Spice and Isaiah Mustafa shattered YouTube viewing records with their initial virals, agencies and brands have been clamouring to get a handle on their own pseudo-hipster-quirky-offbeat plot for an advertising campaign.

Ever since Old Spice and Isaiah Mustafa shattered YouTube viewing records with their initial virals, agencies and brands have been clamouring to get a handle on their own pseudo-hipster-quirky-offbeat plot for an advertising campaign.

This has ranged from the Napoleon Dynamite-esque weirdness of confectionary ads to the downright surreal stylings of the more recent Old Spice ads starring Terry Crews and everything inbetween.

Crews' fellow action movie cohort Jean Claude Van Damme is the latest star to turn his talents towards hosting some bizarre adverts. He first appeared in a series for Coors Light atop a mountain sporting some very fetching double denim, loafers n' socks and a hairdo reminiscent of some of his more vintage film roles - Hard Target anyone?

In a sort of unofficial sequel JCVD has recently appeared in a new series for GoDaddy. Clearly maintaining his sense of humour we see the actor in some of his best roundhouse kick trousers in all manner of positions replete with a set of bongos and some pretty nifty flaming panpipes.

Its a great spot and is very in-keeping with the current trends in Internet humour, predictably this has translated into well over 1.5 million views. Dignity be dammed.
