Bratavio has become the first act to be voted off this year’s ‘X Factor’.

The duo - formerly known as Bradley and Ottavio - left the competition during Sunday (9 October) night’s results show, after landing in the bottom three alongside Freddy Parker and Saara Aalto.

In a change of format to previous series, host Dermot O’Leary announced which three acts had received the fewest votes from the public, following Saturday’s first live show.

Viewers were then given a chance to save one contestant from having to perform in the dreaded sing off, eventually choosing Freddy.

That meant Saara and Bratavio were left to fight it out for the judges’ votes, as they took to the stage again.

Saara decided to perform Sia’s ‘Alive’, while Bratavio took on the ‘TOWIE’ theme tune, aka ‘The Only Way Is Up’ by Yazz.

Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne backed their own acts, voting to save Bratavio and Saara respectively.

Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger also opted to keep Saara, meaning it was farewell to the two boys.

It is currently unknown if Brooks Way will return to the competition next week, after their performance was pulled at the 11th hour, ahead of Saturday’s show.

It came after The Sun reported accusations that Josh Brooks - who makes up one half of the group - had been physically abusive to a former girlfriend last year.

Dermot had told viewers their absence was “due to circumstances”, with a spokesperson also telling Digital Spy: “This relates to information which has been given to the show today regarding one of the group.”

Sunday night’s results show also saw 2012 winner James Arthur return to perform ‘Say You Won’t Let Me Go’, after his comeback single hit the number one spot earlier this month.

The first spin of the new ‘X Factor’ jukebox also revealed next week’s theme will be Motown, while Little Mix and One Republic are confirmed to perform.

‘The X Factor’ continues next Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
