Shortly after 12am on Wednesday July 6 police were called to the Royal Albert Infirmary in Wigan to reports that a newborn baby boy had been found in the toilets of A&E.

The baby was found by security staff at the hospital and taken into the A&E ward where he was resuscitated and is now doing well.
