French Obsessions: Monsieur London

When you want to buy a little black dress, in Paris you would go to rue Faubourg St Honoré; but when you need a finely cut men's suit in London, it's Saville Row that would be your destination. Home to gentleman's clubs and the most famous dandies of all times, the British capital is still proudly living up to its status of the capital of men's fashion.

I am not a fashion expert, but having lived in London for almost five years now, I can safely say that nowhere else have I seen such carefully and exquisitely dressed men than in this city. From the finely cut suits of the city boys, to the hipster beards and rolled up trousers of the men of Dalston, to the velvet jackets and matching pocket squares of the chaps at Green Park, I can say that when men dress in this city, they definitely upstage their female counterparts.

It is not surprising that Valentin Goux and Thibault Fulchiron, two young and ambitious entrepreneurs from France, had their eyes set on the British capital. I sat down with the duo behind the Monsieur London brand for my French Obsessions video series, to talk about being French in London and launching a male accessory brand in a place that prides itself in its taste of men's clothing.
