It has been reported that Placido Domingo will become the new Chairman for the IFPI.
"As chairman, Domingo will play a leading role promoting IFPI's priorities internationally," the group offered in a statement. "These include improving copyright legislation, promoting the work of music rights owners, helping develop a thriving digital music sector and supporting the industry's public education efforts around digital music."
It will be interesting to see if Placido can tackle tough problems such as copyright infringment and copyright reform in the USA, UK and throughout the world.
