How It's Made: a Short Film About Wine Barrels

This is a short film, made in the cooperage of Louis Latour in the town of Beaune, at the centre of the Burgundy wine region in France. It shows all stages of the barrel-making process, from raw wood to the finished product.

This is a short film, made in the cooperage of Louis Latour in the town of Beaune, at the centre of the Burgundy wine region in France. It shows all stages of the barrel-making process, from raw wood to the finished product. The barrels are made using a combination of modern machinery and age-old manual processes, carried out by highly-skilled craftsmen (there are very, very few female coopers in such a physical job) using techniques that have not changed for centuries.

The film lasts for 7 minutes and was filmed in HD, so view if full screen by all means. My thanks to the firm of Louis Latour and their cooperage team.
