I'm on the 1 train in NYC, I literally can't move, the train is taking what feels like forever and the AC isn't working again. It's a good job I'm 6ft 3 and have my own air up here - New York Fashion Week has begun and I'm going to be a part of it.
After 2 solid weeks of meeting clients and waiting at castings in hot sticky rooms full of chiseled faced boys for hours on end, your 30 seconds infront of the client feels so insignificant.. until you get a call back to try clothes on, show your catwalk & end up booking the show - it's an incredible feeling.
After walking for 'Issey Miyake' in Paris & 'Versace' exclusively in Milan this season, I was nervous to see what New York would think of this aurbun haired, tanned skinned London boy.. but with 6 shows confirmed and counting, I'm literally buzzing to say the least!!!
Today, Thursday 5th September, I will be walking for the David Hart Runway Show followed by a presentation for Cotte D'armes starting 1 hour later.. don't even ask me how I'm gona make it across town in that time!!
Will keep you posted with photos after each show! Lets do this.
