Unusual Or Plain Useless? Obscure University Degree Options

This year's students have a bewildering array of courses on offer to them, all vying for their student loans. These offbeat degrees are all making an attempt to lure students in by providing ever more esoteric specialisms. Parents, used to the traditional subjects, mock these 'Mickey Mouse' degrees -- from David Beckham studies to Equine Psychology.

Are all these courses intellectually pointless? Do they ever turn out high-achieving graduates? Are we too old-fashioned in our thinking about worthwhile degrees? Perhaps a degree in Cruise Management could set you in good stead...

  • Hair: The Degree

  • Full Steam Ahead!

Not for guiding the career of Hollywood actors, but hundreds of ship bound holiday makers. One hopes the hygiene module on avoiding food poisoning is up to date.
