University students from all over the world marched in protest, with Ireland and Italy voicing anger over tuition fees and Filipino students reacting against "unequal" international relations.

Nearly 20,000 students marched through the streets of Dublin on Wednesday to demonstrate their opposition at the prospect of a hike in student fees in the forthcoming Northern Ireland budget. The were accused of breaking its pre-election pledge of not raising tuition fees and anger was voiced at reports the coalition was considering a major cutback in student grants and support.

Meanwhile in Italy, young people took to Rome roads on Thursday to protest against education budget cuts and austerity measures. Italy's new Prime Minister Mario Monti, who took office on Wednesday, is set to unveil his economic programme amid fears of hard-hitting reforms.

And across the other side of the globe, student activists in Manila, Philippines, united in protest - although this was against alleged unequal relations with the US, rather than tuition fees.

RELAX, IRISH STUDENTS, YOUR LIVES ARE IN GOOD HANDS.

The proposed, detailed Irish Budget for next year hasn't been finalized yet...because Germany hasn't approved it:

A document circulated in the German Bundestag revealed Dublin’s proposals to save the debt-ridden country £3.25billion.

The details were for next year’s budget, which have not yet been approved by the Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny.  He was forced into an embarrassing denial that his plans were being inspected in Berlin.

Any suggestion that Ireland is running its austerity cuts past Europe’s economic powerhouse for approval will fuel concern that Germany is using its wealth as a lever to amass power over the 17-nation single currency bloc.

Mr Kenny met German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin earlier this week.  Asked how such sensitive information ended up in the hands of a foreign power – just a day after their meeting – Mr Kenny said he had ‘no idea’.  He said his government had made no decision on the content of the budget, due to be presented on December 6.  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063007/Eurozone-debt-crisis-Angela-Merkel-tightens-grip-Irish-budget-plans-end-Berlin.html#ixzz1e7arIIXb

Kenny stumbled a little; his limbs somehow got tangled up with some strings being pulled by Ms. Merkel.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE...MOVE ALONG.
