You can blame Team America: World Police, you can blame Kim Jong Il Looking At Things, you can blame his penchant for geek specs.

Whomever you blame, Kim Jong Il was viewed by many of us rather less as 'the menacing supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea', and more as 'a figure of fun'.

As a result, Twitter is, naturally, going to town - and here are some of its very best jokes so far about our dearly departed dictator. And his son, Kim Jong Un. Who clearly has got some very small shoes to fill.

Well, Prince Philip isn't a lying little murdering weasel like Kim Jong. I'm very happy to see the little sawed off shotgun is dead. And I wish the same to all the other communist North Koreans too. Think of how North Korea can prosper without communism when it's free and united with South Korea.
