'UFO' Lights Spotted In Scottish Snowstorm (Video)

First Posted: 04/01/12 14:53 GMT Updated: 04/01/12 17:49 GMT

A video featuring two glowing lights zipping across a foggy Scottish sky is promising to have UFO sighting groups into a lather.

The footage was reportedly recorded on a dashboard-mounted camera on a Scottish mountain rescue vehicle on 1 January, and features the orbs appearing just as an oncoming vehicle passes the camera.

Some critics claim the lights are simply lens flares from the oncoming car reflected in the camera.

But others note the “creepy” lights are unevenly spaced and don’t correspond with the position of the vehicle.

It’s also unlikely any aircraft would have been flying in such dense fog….which begs the question, what is it?

The sighting is one of the first of the new year and follows similar reports of unidentified craft hovering above Trekhgorny, Russia, and another in Bolotnaya Square, in Moscow.

If you do a frame by frame analysis, it is the reflection of the on coming car's headlights. Because of the lense's angle to the car, the light's would be distorted. You'll also notice the fog lights appear as well and merge into the lights. Not a UFO, just an optical illusion with light.

Scottish snow storm lights appear to be several airplanes in trouble for the storm...icing over. Could have been in the same landing pattern.

Obviously a large vehicle, it probably has one of those door mirrors that face down. This is the reflection off that hitting the windscreen.
Next case Watson!

Is it Alec Salmon looking for the holy grail

Has everyone lost their minds? It's a reflection of the headlights on the windscreen.. Jesus man. A simple explanation, yet people will automatically apply the most bizarre explanations. Occums Razor. All things being equal, the simplest answer is usually the correct one.. What's more likely? Aliens are flying around scottish snow storms? Meteors are somehow still glowing 100 feet from the surface of the earth(In a snow storm)? or it's a reflection... I always knew I was surrounded by morons, everyday I'm given more evidence that this is true.

It's lens glare from the oncoming vehicle. The first vehicle was on dipped beam so no glare, the second was on full beam with fogs on.

Nice try......sadly incorrect. They can't possibly be " meteorites "

go to a good library and read up about the effect meteorites have when they disintegrate . The fact that there was no streaks or tails behind was due to lack of visibility we could only see the lightest part. I have rerad up quite a lot on the subject> Have you?

Anybody could appear to be an erudite person, specifically if they downloand the subject from internet websites like"Wikypedia". I kept the subject simple so that you would understand as i did not want to bore you or any others with a long techincal explanation. You believe what you want i stand by my point and this is my opinion. I will not bother to answer any more emails as I am a busy person and do not want to waste any more time on an endless chats.

If they have come all that way from deep space what do they need lights for?

Orbs? That means ghostly manifestations. Especially in Scotch land!
