March Madness: Obama To Treat Cameron To Basketball Game

Barack Obama will take David Cameron to watch a basketball game when the prime minister flies to the United States to hold talks with the American president next week.

Obama will take Cameron to Dayton, Ohio, on Tuesday to watch a game in the NCAA college basketball tournament known as "March Madness".

"The president and the prime minister look forward to a great game between some of our nation's finest collegiate athletes," a White House official told AFP.

Ohio is a crucial swing state in US presidential elections, and Cameron's visit will come a week after Republican Mitt Romney narrowly won it's presidential primary as he seeks his party's nomination to take on the president in November.

Obama won Ohio with 51% of the vote in the 2008 election. But the state narrowly voted for George W Bush in 2006 and will be a key battle ground in this years contest.

The Huffington Post UK dares to dream that Obama will challenge the prime minister to a slam dunk contest, for our amusement if not for his dignity.

Cameron is no slouch and has been frequently pictured taking part in a variety of sporting activities including cricket, tennis and table tennis.

However Obama has displayed considerable skills on the basketball court and if Cameron wins Britain should get the colonies back.
