Apple Confirms New iPad Launch 8am Friday 16 March UK Pricing

The wait is nearly over! Apple has confirmed that the new iPad will arrive in stores in 12 countries this Friday, 16 March.

At 8:00 a.m. local time, the new version will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, , the US Virgin Islands, Singapore, Switzerland, Puerto Rico as well as in the UK and USA, where there are reports of customers already queueing in New York and London for the new gadget, according to the Daily Mail.

The new iPad features:
* a brilliant new Retina display
* new A5X chip with quad-core graphics
* 5 megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics and 1080p HD video
* 10 hour battery life

From 23 March, the new iPad will be available in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

£399 inc VAT (£332.50 ex VAT) for 16GB
£479 inc VAT (£399.17 ex VAT) for 32GB
£559 inc VAT (£465.83 ex VAT) for 64GB

iPad Wi-Fi + 4G:
£499 inc VAT (£415.83 ex VAT) for 16GB
£579 inc VAT (£482.50 ex VAT) for 32GB
£659 inc VAT (£549.17 ex VAT) for 64GB

The 4G will run on 4G and LTE networks in the US and Canada and fast 3G networks around the world.

iPad 2 pricing:
£329 inc VAT (£274.17 ex VAT) 16GB Wi-Fi model
£429 inc VAT (£357.50 ex VAT) 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G model
