Tycoon Lord Sugar has lent his support to a website selling sex toys.

The multi-millionaire sent a tweet out to his 1.6 million followers encouraging them to visit the Voluptasse website which sells vibrators, lingerie and sex games.

Lord Sugar, who can claim state pension from next week when he reaches the age of 65, has always been an advocate for British business.

He sent out the message after a plea from Voluptasse owner Melissa Macfarlane.

He tweeted: "@Lord_Sugar please can retweet my website voluptasse.co.uk. I'm a mum of 4 who's started my own business. It would really help xxxxx"

Pregnant Ms Macfarlane said she was "delighted" that he had sent out the message.

The 30-year-old from Blackburn, Lancashire, said his support would "really boost" the business which she set up in 2011.

"It is amazing that he would give me the time of day," she said.

"What are you talking about?" -Lord Sugar on Kissy Sell Out's show.

I would just like to say something here. It website is my site. There is no mention of me being a single mum on this site. I have 4 children, I was married to the father of my children for 10 years. I studied for 7 years to get a law degree, I have never claimed benefits in my life and still work full time in addition to running my online business. I set up the business after being sick and tired of being made redundant. I think some of your comments on here are unfair and extremely ignorant. I am grateful that Lord Sugar took the time to retweet my voluptasse website and hopefully it will give the business the boost that I desperately needed. Thank you for all the supportive comments and fingers crossed that things will keep getting better!

There are an awful lot of people commenting here who have fewer than 20 fans.
Just sayin'.

Heard a rumour that he's supplying the batteries?

What a stitch-up! I hope he sues her when he finds out. I'm not sure what his state pension has to do with anything either.

Sues her for what?

For conning him into "retweeting" a dodgy website. You people don't actually believe that he checked out what she was promoting do you? Come to think of it, many of you probably do. I also doubt that he does any "retweeting" himself anyway.

Isn't she on eBay, like the rest?

A lot of unfair criticism of Lord Sugar here. He may not seek publicity for it , but I personally know of a few businesses/business people where he has personally given them help or support on one way or another. Give the man his due . I am not a Labour supporter.

I don't believe this article 4's too young to be a mum!

where I come from, quite a few single mums of 4 have started their own business. Unfortunately they are all in direct competition with each other.
