John Addrison, Caldicott Teaching Assistant, Charged With Sexually Assualting Pupils

Teaching Assistant At Nick Clegg's Former School Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Pupils

A former teaching assistant has been charged with sex offences against pupils at an independent school.

John Addrison is accused of seven counts of indecent assault involving three children while working at Moor Park School in Ludlow, Shropshire, between 1985 and 1988, Thames Valley Police said.

The 52-year-old, of Datchet Road, Slough, Berkshire, has already been charged with three counts of indecent assault on a child under 16 and one count of gross indecency with a child under 14, a police spokesman said.

Those offences were allegedly committed while he worked at Caldicott Preparatory School in Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire, he said.

Addrison has been bailed to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on August 28.

Former students include Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and England cricket captain Andrew Strauss.

In December last year, the former headteacher of the preparatory school was charged with indecently assaulting boys more than 50 years ago.

Roland Peter Wright faced seven counts of incitement to commit gross indecency and 18 counts of indecent assault.

The police investigation into Addrison is continuing and anyone with information or concerns relevant to the inquiry should call Detective Sergeant Joe Banfield at the Child Abuse Investigation Unit on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
