US Election 2012: Why Not Vote In Your Local Mexican Restaurant Or Neighbour's Garage? (PICTURES)

America's Unusual Polling Stations

America's a big country, and so it was that sometimes locals had to get creative in order to vote on Tuesday.

In most cases, Americans could amble down to a local school or church or local authority building to vote while some had to hop over to their local Mexican restaurant, car service garage or even their neighbour's basement.

In Chicago, a number of private residences as well as at least one hair salon, had to double as polling stations.

American soldiers in Kosovo were reminded to vote earlier this week

Bizarrely, one electronic ballot box was even hosted in someone's sparklingly clean basement in President Obama's home city.
