Oasis To Reunite? Liam Gallagher Prompts Speculation With Series Of Cryptic Tweets

Are Oasis Getting Back Together?

Liam Gallagher has sparked rumours that Oasis might be getting back together, with a string of cryptic tweets.

The singer sent out five tweets on Thursday night, gradually spelling out the word ‘Oasis’, prompting fans to speculate over whether the Machester band may be reuniting soon.

Despite the fact Liam took his time with the final 'S', the internet went into overdrive as fans contemplated the possibility that a new Oasis project could be in the pipeline.

Either that or Liam’s just practicing a cheer-leading chant.

Oasis split back in 2009, when Noel Gallagher released a statement on the group’s official website which explained he could no longer be in the band with his brother, Liam.

He wrote: “I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

Since then, the two brothers have gone their separate ways, with Noel fronting his own band, Noel Gallgher’s High Flying Birds, and Liam forming Beady Eye, who performed the Oasis hit ‘Wonderwall’ at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

However back in November, Noel stated that there was no chance of an Oasis reunion any time soon, telling Rolling Stone magazine: “There is no band. If there is a reunion, I won't be a part of it.”

If Oasis do get back together, they won't be the only Brit rockers reuniting this summer, as The Libertines have announced that they are going to perform in Hyde Park this July.

Liam's timing is slightly odd too - surely it can only be a coincidence that his tweets have come as their Britpop rivals Blur are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of their album 'Parklife'...
