There are two types of people in this world - those who favour dogs and those who favour cats.

Of course there the odd stragglers who are unable to make up their minds, but for most of us - it's either cat or dog.

So as the war between which animal is better wages on, many will welcome a new study comparing 'dog people' and 'cat people'. Finally, we can lay to rest who is the superior being.

According to the study, cat lovers are more intelligent than their dog-loving counterparts - as well as being more introverted, open-minded and sensitive.

Dog lovers on the other hand are lively, outgoing and tend to abide by the rules. (Apparently.)
