Manchester United's Transfer Window Clear-Out

Louis van Gaal arrived in the north-west less than two months ago but he has already dramatically changed Manchester United's squad.

Five of the starters in the Reds' final game of last season have left the club. The final tally is 18 after Tom Cleverley was belatedly loaned to Aston Villa.

It is not a hopeless situation for all of them. Six have been loaned out, with Nick Powell and Michael Keane gaining Premier League work experience at Leciester and Burnley, although Wilfried Zaha is expected to join Crystal Palace permanently and Daley Blind has inherited Nani's No.17 shirt. Javier Hernández and Tom Cleverley are unlikely to play for United again.
