Small Business Saturday has come again to Britain, the day when consumers are urged to help their local communities by "shopping small".

George Osborne has led politicians in praising the "brilliant" campaign, with MPs from all three parties making a big show of visiting local shops last year. The campaign, like Black Friday, comes from America - with president Obama making a point of shopping at local stores.
