Taylor Swift Snubs Apple Music, 1989 Will Not Play On Streaming Service

Taylor Swift Is Shaking Off Apple Music

Taylor Swift is well truly shaking off music streaming services.

Apple along with Swifty's record label Big Machine Records confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the album 1989 will not be available on Apple Music at launch.

Last year the golden girl of pop sent out a loud message to the music industry when she pulled the album from Spotify but still managed to rope in record-breaking sales -- it sold 1.287 million copies in the first seven days of its release.

What this essentially means for T Swizzle's fans who are eager to check out Apple Music when it debuts on June 30, is that they will have to be satisfied with a backlog of songs that are currently available on paid-for streaming services such as Tidal and Rdio.

Big Machine Records told BuzzFeed News that there are no plans to place the album on any other streaming services, an understandable decision given that it's been the best selling album in the last two years.

Last year, Spotify issued a gushing statement begging Swift to reconsider her break up with the service. Tay didn't.

However, her stance is a luxury that only she can afford.

For most artists -- including Avicii whose chart topping hit 'Wake Me Up' was one of the most streamed songs on Spotify-- having a blank space on platforms such as Apple Music would be too high a price to pay.
